FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions!

Here we try to answer some common questions regarding our tours. If you have a question that’s not covered on this page, please feel free to contact us and ask us directly!

Do you do group tours?

Yes, with advanced notice we will run group tours of up to 15 people. Just use our Contact Page to get the conversation started!

You'll pick us up?

Yes! If you are staying in Western North Carolina, we will come pick you up anywhere in a 40-mile radius of Asheville!

What should we wear?

People should wear seasonally appropriate clothing while being prepared for colder-than-expected temperatures at higher elevations. It can be 15 degrees cooler on local mountain tops than the temperature in Asheville. A rain jacket is encouraged. Weather can change quickly in the mountains.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a 100% refund up to one three days before our tour was scheduled to happen if you need to cancel. Two days or less before the scheduled tour there will be no refund. We offer 100% refunds due to rain on the day of a scheduled tour if cancelation is requested (we still like to operate even if it rains). No refunds will be issued after a tour has taken place.

Will we have access to bathrooms?

Generally speaking, no. We’ll always be in 15-20 minute driving range of a bathroom when necessary.

What do you mean by 'private' tour?

All of our tours are private. That means only you and whoever you book the tour with are a part of the tour, such as your spouse.

When do the tours start and end?

We customize each tour to fit your schedule. Generally, we try to time our five-hour half-day tours to end at sunset and begin our full-day tours about seven hours before sunset.

What should we bring?

Each person should bring a camera of some sort, ideally a DSLR or mirrorless camera but smartphones work! Snacks, sunscreen, bug spray and other personal needs should be brought as well.

Where will you take us on the tour?

That depends on you! After you book a tour, we’ll chat on the phone briefly to find a scene or two that fits your interests and fitness level.

Do you offer food or beverages?

Yes! We carry a variety of snacks and supply each person with fresh, local spring water. If you are thinking of a full-day tour, we suggest packing a meal.
